The sincerest form of flattery?

Apparently, there is another blog written by parents in Silver Spring sponsored by the Takoma/Silver Spring Voice online. This blog is called ApParently.

The Silver Bee in her great wisdom and kindness gently let me know this.

And I thought I was so original! I feel like that 17 year old who found out the perfect name she had for her band was already taken. (Or the 30-something one.)

ApParently has in its right sidebar the community calendar that is produced by the Voice and keeps the community thriving. The Voice’s calendar is awesome, I have been mining it for events since I moved to Silver Spring, and I was logging many of the events that they list onto this this blog’s humble calendar this weekend. I hope that is still OK and there are no hard feelings.

My blog is in no way an answer to or a criticism of main contributor Chris, the parent collective, their good work or their writing. I should have researched the title for my own blog a little better. I also believe the Voice is a super community publication and I so look forward to its hard copy presence on my lawn. I will add all of the Voice’s other good blogs to my reading as well. I hope you do too! Although I feel sheepish, I am also very excited to read these writers’ postings and archives.

I hope you feel that the more people in Silver Spring that are talking about the wonderful resources this area has to offer for our children, the better.

Mea culpa.
