Are you feeling the Sunday night time crunch? Packing lunches, hitting the grocery store, counting clean pairs of Jockey shorts, catching up on work e-mails, checking the account balance, wondering how in the world you are going to do it all this week?

I have to admit, tonight I am not as overwhelmed as usual, because this week I had the great pleasure and very centering experience of interviewing Corina DuBois. Corina is a powerhouse both in the Silver Spring community and in the MamaPreneur (her word) movement nationwide. And not only is Corina literally doing it all, she is doing it all with a gorgeous smile and a glow that is inspiring to every woman around her.

Corina is the founding mother of Celebrate Mama!, a network of nationwide events that exhibit businesses and resources that celebrate motherhood. Celebrate Mama! also provides a wealth of online resources to parents seeking personal and professional enrichment. A marketing whiz who took a half-second sabbatical after the birth of her first child, Corina found herself full of energy to embrace mothering and help others. She developed a unique way to communicate with mothers and help them to feel good, located sponsors and the first Celebrate Mama! event was born. Now Celebrations are held in over twelve metropolitan areas across the country. The next Montgomery County event is scheduled for May 3rd in downtown Bethesda.

Corina has just this week opened the The Celebrate Mama! Center, a brick and mortar mothership of support to parents everywhere, based right here in Silver Spring. Housed at the Crossway Community Inc. Campus, The Celebrate Mama! Center will “…host parent enrichment classes, Mama & Me activities (fitness, health, creativity, communication, etc.), entrepreneurship seminars, formal mentoring programs, and workforce development programs.” [Celebrate Mama! website FAQs] Watch the calendar at aparentinsilverspring for upcoming programs at the Center.

You may already know Corina as the lead instructor and owner of the Stroller Strides franchise here in the Silver Spring area. I can tell you from personal experience this week, this woman delivers one heck of a workout! I loaded my unruly preschooler and toddler in my well-used-non-jogger double stroller and headed to the City Place Mall for a class. Even though my kids freaked out and whined, not one class attendee nor Corina seem phased for a second. I left the class with burning thighs, a natural high and the knowledge that I had conquered my daily workout with the kids in tow. Yahoo! Corina will be selling the franchise in order to devote more focus to Celebrate Mama!, but she will remain a dynamic force in the classes and group meetings. Most importantly, Corina is a mother to three and half year old Holden, two year old Nolan and she is due in July with her third little guy. Her husband Hal is a Naval Engineer currently on tour in Iraq with a focus on rebuilding in Baghdad. How’s that for doing it all?! Corina says that she and Hal talk every day and that although missed, he is a great support.
