FunFit Open Gym on Wednesdays & Fridays, a hell of a good time

It’s a known fact that kids that have a chance to run around like bats out of hell are less likely to whine, freak out, fight with each other and bug the hell out of you. There, I said it. (Stimey, still think I’m nice?) So, when faced with freezing temps and muddy playgrounds, open gyms like FunFit in Rockville/Derwood will save your sanity and allow your dear little bats to enjoy one hell of an active playdate.

What FunFit has that kids love: an indoor moonbounce, “roller coaster,” oodles of learning toys, books, blocks, trains, big round short activity table perfect for cruisers and toddlers, mini trampolines, mini treadmills, balls, ball pits, rocking horses, sit n spins, huge foam climbing wedges, circuit workout for big kids & tweens.

What FunFit has that parents love: kids aged infant to 13 and special needs always welcome, low drop in rate of $6 per kid & $5 per sibling with a $15 family max, member savings plans, safe and contained environment, friendly staff that play good music and let parents get in the moonbounce with the little ones, good number of people for parent and kid socializing without getting too crowded, clean family restrooms for potty training, no time limits – you can stay the entire time, small potential for disasters, high potential that your kid will have fun and get tired and take an afternoon nap. The Derwood location is accessible if you live in Silver Spring, Aspen Hill, Rockville, Olney or Gaithersburg, making it a good meeting place for playdates with friends throughout the County.

FunFit also has great classes, a drop-off babysitting night for kids 3-9, throws a super birthday party and starting next Wednesday, February 27th they are hosting a Women’s Circle discussion series where women can get together once a month in the evening, listen to experts and discuss parenting.

But it’s the open gym times at FunFit that save me and my little hellions in winter. God bless them.

  1. I know I asked you this, but do you read Kim Moldofsky at BAbyCenter? She has a blog like this and is a HUGE resource for this kind of material you have. She is all about the blog perks and getting the word out and… you would do well hooking up with her. Her links below.

Meanwhile, thanks for reading me. I like your blog also!

  2. Why have I never heard about this place? We are so missing out. (our daughter is a particularly rabid bat.) Thanks!

  3. We like this place too. (And, yes: still nice!) That little roller coaster toy there is always a big hit with my kids.
