Christmas Bazaar in Silver Spring This Friday & Saturday

St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Silver Spring hosts one heck of a hopping Christmas Bazaar every year. With dozens of vendors selling gifts for everyone on your list, an adults’ night out on Friday and a family-friendly Saturday full of activities for the kids, it’s an event for all ages that the APISS crew looks forward to every year. Admission is totally free.

Saturday is a kids’ paradise. Children can make ornaments, crafts, gifts for their loved ones in Santa’s Workshop. Nice mama elves are there to assist and the kids all have fun creating art together. There will be a game room with organized activities and prizes for kids – last year there was face painting and all sorts of fun that kept my kids occupied and happy.

Amazing gift vendors will be selling: Christmas decorations, photo sessions, home decor, hair accessories, toys, monogrammed gifts, jewelry, gourmet treats, fine art, crafts, religious gifts, stitchery, heirloom maps, stationery, holiday cards, photo albums, ceramics, knitwear, cosmetics, skincare products, gifts from the Holy Land, quilts, afghans, woodworking. (If you are interested in showcasing your wares, St. John will be taking more vendors up until the day-of. Call 301-681-7663 if you’d like to participate.)

Favorite attractions include rock star raffles, the very popular Treasure Trove – St. John’s annual antique showcase, as well as a Book Shop full of gently used books at bargain prices.

And the food. On Friday night traditional Italian food from Mama Lucia, beer, wine and dessert is available for purchase while you shop and socialize. On Saturday you can pick up delicious breakfast and lunch while you browse and play. Both days feature a massive table of baked goodies to help you herald the December delicacies.
