Celebrate Mama! on Saturday – More Info, More Awesome

As if you needed another reason to come out for Celebrate Mama! this Saturday, May 2nd from 11am-4pm, check this out:

Washington Freedom professional soccer star Sarah Huffman will be making a special appearance at the event from 2:30-3:30pm…and she’ll be handing out free tickets to games! As the mother of two budding soccer players – one a daughter that adores female athlete role models – this is exciting stuff at our house. Sarah was the first overall draft pick in women’s professional soccer and an incredible player.

The APISS kids are also stoked to see their fave musical group Rocknoceros open the Celebration at 11am performance, and Charlie is still talking about all the games he played, free cotton candy, trinkets and other fun swag he picked up last year. Off the field, Eve loves to dance, and so she’s revved up to view performances by FunFit and the American Dance Institute.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you virtual friends in real life at the A Parent in Silver Spring table, where I’ll be hanging out so your kids can make a secret Mother’s Day card (ssshhhh) and grab some candy. My husband? He’s relieved to have something fun to do with the kids while I’m working!

So make sure you make it out to Celebrate Mama! on Saturday on Bethesda Row on Woodmont Avenue between Elm & Bethesda Aves in downtown Bethesda from 11am-4pm. Come early – the first 300 families will receive amazing swag bags chock full o’goodies. If you come later in the day, the 100+ vendors will still be showing you love with doodads, deals and dandy fun for kids and moms, and there will be on-the-spot giveaways of mamalicious prizes too.
