One of the best annual events in the DC area is the Children’s Festival at Good Shepherd Preschool and Episcopal Church in Silver Spring.

From 11am – 3pm tomorrow, Saturday May 30, there will be:

  • Three live shows by Horn’s Punch and Judy Show, to which the Baltimore Sun review says, “The kids laughed so hard they hiccuped, rolled on their sides, and squealed.”
  • The magic three children’s fair must-haves: Moon bounces, kids game stations and face painting.
  • Visits from local fire fighters, police officers and their vehicles.
  • Brookside Gardens representatives for nature learning & Humane Society with pets for adoption.
  • Delicious food.
  • Silent auction with items that include: summer camps, entertainment, sporting events, pool memberships, and restaurants.

The cool thing? All proceeds from the Children’s Festival will support the building of a new playground for the preschool.

My family and I go every year and as we consider ourselves kid festival connoisseurs, let me just say that this is one of the very best ones. As the APISS kids say, supertrooperduper fun!
