Kids Restaurant Week in DC

BAD MOMMY ALERT: Don’t narc me out to our pediatrician,
but one of Eve’s first foods was restaurant
crème brûlée

Break out the clip-on tie and Easter dress: This week until June 21, 17 restaurants in the District are offering kid-friendly early evening reservations, a special prix fixe for adults ($29,) and kids under the age of 11 simply pay their age.

The participating restaurants aren’t the kind that have rollerskating waitstaff or cartoon characters on the walls. They’re Firefly, Zola, Wasabi – the types of places you’d normally book a babysitter to go child-free. Kids Restaurant Week is a cool way to introduce your child’s manners and ‘Palette‘ to fine dining without the self-consciousness that other patrons will be annoyed by kid outbursts.

I wouldn’t start a food fight with truffles though, ‘k? Save the Animal House shenanigans for The Cheese.

Here’s the complete list of restaurants doing Kids Restaurant Week DC. You can make your reservations online and view the menus too.

If you live in or will be visiting Manhattan June 20-28 click here, and for Chicago’s that same week go here.

This promo is thanks to Cookie and Gourmet magazines, and Destination DC, the City’s official tourism marketing office.
