Just like in Jurassic Park, dinosaurs are walking among us…at least they will be at the Verizon Center September 16-20 when WALKING WITH DINOSAURS roars into town.

Walking With Dinosaurs is a live theatrical show that is performed on the arena floor, showing 15 dinosaurs at the size they were in real life. The Verizon Center is one of the only venues large enough to accommodate them. Using both live and recorded video, dramatic lighting and symphonic sound, the dinos are brought to life in three-dimensional reality as they walk around. The audience is meant to feel they are looking at real dinosaurs – alive and spontaneous to everything, even the audience. See real footage of the show here.

Tickets are now available for purchase via Ticketmaster, and the producers of the show say that due to the enormous scale of the dinosaurs – the largest of which is 36 feet tall and 56 feet from nose to tail – even the view from the least expensive seats is spectacular. The show is recommended for ages three and up and it’s been developed for the entire family – there’s no violence or overtly scary stuff. But Walking With Dinosaurs sure has its fair amount of realism – simulated earthquakes, volcanoes, loud primal roars of the dinosaurs, so beware if your kid is sound-sensitive. The producers say, “Our experience is that most children sit relatively quietly in awe of the dinosaurs.”

It’s 96 minutes long, with one pee-pee break intermission.
