Jammin’ Java + Rocknoceros on Wednesday and Saturday

Did you know that it only takes half an hour to get to Jammin’ Java in Vienna from Washington, Silver Spring or other ‘burbs in Montgomery and PG Counties? And that this independently-owned coffee house hosts some of the most marvelous kid-oriented music in the DC Metro area?

If you have a kid and happen to live in Northern Virginia, I’m sure you’re already familiar with Jammin’ Java’s great music venue. And if you’re a serious Rocknoceros groupie like Tech Savvy Mama, I’m sure you’ve already made the trek to the JJ in VA to hear the guys play.

But for all the Jammin’ Java/Rocknoceros virgins, you’ve got to go! And this week you’ve got two fab Rocknoceros options:

Tomorrow Wednesday morning 9/16 at 10:30am is the weekly Tot Rock. It’s just $5 per child and tickets are only available at the door. Actually, Rocknoceros plays every Wednesday this fall at 10:30am, and there’s an entire DC-kid-music dream team on every JJ weekday at the same time: Miss Belle‘s on Mondays, Mr. Don‘s on Tuesdays, Oh Susannah‘s on Thursdays and Fridays is Banjo Man.

Saturday night 9/19 is the special Family Happy Hour at 7pm. Get down with your kids at as Rocknoceros plays “PINK!” and more of their great singles, as well as a fun mix of classic rock cover tunes. At the Jammin’ Java bar, the signature Family Happy Hour drink special will be in full effect: buy a beer, get a juice box with it for free. For this show, purchase tickets in advance online here. Everyone older than one year old needs a ticket and tickets are $10 each.

Hey, that’s better than an upstairs show at The Black Cat, and you don’t even need to get a sitter.
