As I wrote about earlier this year, I took my kids to see Disney on Ice and though I was skeptical, I learned it was totally worth it. The kids had a great time. They’re totally looking forward to going again.
The APISS crew is going to see Disney on Ice Celebrations! on Wednesday night October 21. And after we see the Disney peeps haul out over 50 of their best characters, all wearing blades and leaping and spinning around the rink, I’ll tell you guys all about it. My prediction: there’s going to be singing of a certain oft-played Kool & the Gang song and clapping of hands overhead.
And guess who’s going to be there this time? Only Princess Tiana. You know, the new Disney Princess that’s finally arriving in theaters this winter? Drawn by the two old-school-by-hand animator dudes who brought us Ariel and Jasmine? The first African American Disney Princess? (And also the first African American Disney Prince, but really, does your three year old daughter pay much attention to the guys?)

The DC shows’ are all happening at The Patriot Center at George Mason University from October 21st thought 25th and then the fun moves to the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore October 28th through November 1st. The tickets are priced $70-$15 and they can be purchased via Ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 202-397-SEAT and at the Patriot Center and Mariner Arena box offices.
