This Saturday October 10 is The Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County’s 5th Annual Buddy Walk® and it’s a must-do for all families in the DC area. Held at awesome playground Hadley Park on Falls Road in Potomac, Maryland right off of I-270, it’s not only a great way to exercise and support special needs kids and families, it’s simply a fun-filled day.
The kids fair and walk registration begins at 10am (you can also register online,) the 1 mile loop walk around the park starts at 11:30am sharp, and from 10am-2:30pm is a big ol’ kids fair! There’ll be a moon bounce, arts and crafts, an obstacle course, kids golf clinic, face painting, yummy food and more.
The Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County aims to be the best resource in Montgomery County for parents of kids, teens and adults with Down syndrome, and also for the greater community. They’ve created new initiatives that provide support, education and awareness to teachers, health care professionals, universities. And they’re 100% staffed by volunteers.
In other words, the Buddy Walk day is not only loads of fun for your family on a sunny Saturday, but every cent of your walk registration fee of $15 per individual or $40 for your family will be used to educate and advocate. Jazzed? See the website for more info!
