Autism Resources in Montgomery County, MD at AutMont – A WONDERFUL Website

Resources for children with autism and their families are often tough to find, so Jean of Stimeyland and Autism Unexpected started AutMont. AutMont was first conceived as merely a calendar listing of autism related events in Montgomery County, but has expanded into what Jean hopes will become a gathering place for parents of autistic children, as well as autistic adults and teens.

Woman of the Week!  Methinks the crown needs to be bestowed…

Jean, as I’ve gushed about before, is the mom I strive to be and shamelessly copy and worship daily.  She is the mom of three bodacious boys (with whom my kids and I have had the pleasure of playing), including two neurotypical boys and middle son Jack, who is autistic.

AutMont is packed with information for parents of kids with autism, with a great calendar of events listings with expanded links to AutMont’s blog posts about those events. (And you KNOW how I adore calendars…) To submit events for publication, email Jean at autismmontgomery[at]gmail[dot]com.
There’s also a forum to connect with other special needs parents. Jean invites posters on the board to ask a question, propose a playdate, ask about a treatment. Jean writes about the forums, “AutMont is about support, no matter where in your autism journey you are, or what your methods of dealing with it may be.”
Subscribe here to AutMont’s RSS feed so that you don’t miss one iota of her insights and bulletins of events, organizations, and delivered right to your RSS reader.

All hail the Second Time Woman of the Week Awardee!  (Jean’s like the Meryl Streep of APISS.)
