A Parent in Silver Spring Website Redesign

How do you like the new look?

Sam of Temptation Designs was the incredible web and graphic designer that tricked out the entire site, migrated all of the old A Parent in Silver Spring info from Blogger to WordPress and helped me get a fresh new face.

(APISS didn’t change as much as Heidi though, right?)

The site should now look fabulously formatted for all screens, whether you’re viewing from your iPhone, laptop or desktop monitor.

However, it could take a few days for the new site to be communicated to all servers, and we’re fixing some little stuff with importing old comments and the feeds (thus, you probably have not received your standard email or RSS feeds of new content yet.)  Those wrinkles will be ironed out soon.

Now it’s up to me to get the information better organized to serve you all, and I’m currently interviewing calendar software, researching usability and other stuff to make it easy-peasy for you to access the two year’s worth of info for your family, as well as quickly locate new info that you need.

But right now this second, I’m just enjoying this new outfit.

If you have ANY PROBS with the new site, please let me know!

  1. Testing 4, 3, 2, 1….

Earth below us, drifting, falling, floating…

  2. is there a link to APISS reviews?

  3. Why does my first comment now say “Your comment is awaiting moderation! “. Is it like Leticia’s where you are going to approve comments b/4 they post “live” on the blog? (and there is nothing wrong w/ that!)

OK, i am going to bed now…………………

  4. There are a couple little details we’re still working through. Having the site live and active helps get those last little bugs out. Please bare with us as we finish up some of the changes!

  5. I have a wierd double version of your picture and the top bar without words on top of the correct one. Don’t know if it’s just me though.

  6. Jessica,
I love it! Looks totally amazing, and at this point, everything looks like it’s been worked out perfectly–none of the prob’s mentioned above for me!

And yes, it’s re-vamped, but not nearly as new as Heidi, and that’s seriously why I love you and hope you’ll always be in my life: you are crazy smart, hilarious, uber-talented, and you totally know your celebrity gossip like whuuut.

Looking forward to seeing the new features of APISS in the next few days/ weeks–

(And I just added your brand-spankin’ new button to my site!)

    cheers, friend!

  7. New look is great, much better than the new Heidi.

I absolutely love the new site!  Thanks for keeping my little ole’ button and I just added your brand spankin’ new one on my site!  Now I might just have to contact Sam about my own little bloggy move to WP too since you’ve made the jump I’ve been hesitant to make!

  9. It looks totally fabulous!

  10. I wish the column with ads are a little bit narrower.  The content of your blog is so wonderful yet it’s all squeezed to about half of the screen.  I understand the importance of ads/sponsors but their flashing images and large icons seem to be a bit more dominant to my taste.  That said, I still like your blog very much.
