Drama Kids International is a children’s acting and public speaking workshop series that has garnered rave reviews from parents, and these classes have now come to Silver Spring, Olney and Ashton.

Owner and instructor of the East Montgomery County program Carolyn Parker says that Drama Kids develops all kids, from the shy to the outgoing, to speak out at their own pace with positive encouragement. The program’s specialty is the use of a wide range of unique drama activities to “…focus the bold, outspoken child and to draw out the quiet child and help them reach into themselves to discover their full potential”

One cool feature is that the curriculum’s lessons are carefully planned such that students can enroll at any time (space permitting) and will never repeat a lesson,  regardless of when they enroll.  There’s also 10% sibling discount and a one-class-free discount if you enroll this week.

Two Silver Spring classes will be held at Great Kids Village in downtown Silver Spring, as well as more Montgomery County classes in Olney and Ashton:

For Ages 5-8 – Tuesday Evenings 6-7pm now through June 8th at Great Kids Village in Silver Spring: In this 14-week Lower Primary program, students will work on acting skills, scene work and improvisation techniques and will learn performance-based skills. The class will be in full rehearsal mode for a performance open to the community in early June . No auditions needed. There is a part for every actor! Early sign-up price of $195 through February 27th.

For Ages 6-9 – Friday Evenings 5-6pm March 5th through June 11th at the Blueberry Gardens Octagon in Ashton, MD: In this 14-week Primary Composite Class, we are in Performance Season! Students will work on acting skills, scene work and improvisation techniques and will learn performance based skills. This session will culminate in a performance open to the community in early June . No auditions needed. There is a part for every actor! Early sign up price of $195 through Feb. 27th.
