Washington, D.C. Earth Day Activity on Saturday – National Mall Clean Up

Look for my Washington DC Earth Day activities round-up on Thursday night – it will feature ways for families to get green-involved (and entertained) Saturday April 17 – Sunday April 25.

Get your kids interested in service early, and enjoy the National Mall now that cherry blossom madness has calmed down this Saturday.  At 10:30 a.m., the Trust for the National Mall and Earth Day Network invite families to a volunteer clean up of the National Mall (aka “America’s Front Yard”) and get the Earth Day party started.  Interested volunteers should meet at the FDR Memorial on the Tidal Basin at 10:30am to be assigned litter pickup, planting, weeding, mulching and other beautification activities.  All necessary materials will be provided, and kids can receive free t-shirts and hacky sacks (because you aren’t really an environmentalist until you’ve tried to bounce a hacky sack around on a grassy knoll, right?) Snacks and bottled water will also be provided.

Saturday, April 17th at 10:30 AM

FDR Memorial, Tidal Basin

MarcParc Valet, Inc. will be providing complimentary shuttles from Foggy Bottom Metro Station to the FDR Memorial from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM and again from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

Event hosted by The Trust for the National Mall and the Earth Day Network
