Looking for something cultural to do with your kids this week? Look no further! Wolf Trap Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods has given me a family pack of FOUR free tickets for their last performances of summer this week, featuring the Dance Institute of Washington performing a hip-hop version of West Side Story, and then Rocknoceros bringing the best in kid rock and folk.
The winner can choose either the Thursday, Friday or Saturday performances. The dancing begins at 10am, and then after an intermission (aka snack and potty break) Rocknoceros will storm the stage at 11:15am.
UPDATE: THE WINNER IS LEIDA M. She has been contacted and has redeemed her 4 tickets. Just leave a comment here to be entered to WIN! I’ll draw the winner at 5pm tomorrow, Wednesday August 11th.
But ANYONE can head to see these performances – they’re reasonably priced at $10 for both shows,$8 for the one gig of your choice, and tickets are available for the Wednesday-Saturday performances. It’s your last chance in 2010 to experience this Washington tradition of entertaining and educating kids during the summer, in a beautiful outdoor venue. Grab yo’ tickets here!

Join the Dance Institute of Washington for an innovative, family-friendly adaptation of a celebrated classic.
When the Hip Hops challenge the Techni-Ques to a lively dance-off, it seems like everyone’s choosing sides! This fun, age-appropriate competition is the backdrop for a love story that makes two rivals reevaluate their differences and honor the importance of acceptance through their love of dance.
After the dance show, stay for…
