Preschool Fair Thursday November 17 Hosted by Wheaton Area Moms

Every November, the Wheaton Area Moms mother’s groups hosts the BEST preschool fair I have personally ever attended, and it is happening this week on Thursday November 17 at Crossway Community in Kensington from 10am-Noon. If you are searching for a preschool in Montgomery County, DO. NOT. MISS.

So far TWENTY-FOUR (note: I just spoke to a WAM member and learned they are up to TWENTY-SEVEN! schools attending) of the very best preschools in Silver Spring, Bethesda, Kensington, Chevy Chase and Rockville are participating. I believe this is just the right size of cozy and not crazy, and if you are specifically searching for a preschool in these areas of Montgomery County, it is pretty near perfect. The event allows  parents to truly get a sense of the programs and philosophies of each school, their application dates and processes.

The event is kid friendly! Your children can play, draw pictures and play with Play-Doh in one close-by room while you visit the information booths, pick up application and background packets on all the schools and speak with school representatives in the next adjoining room. (My kids call these types of events “win-wins” because both the parents get to do something necessary without hiring childcare and the children have playdate-worthy fun.)

Here is the official information on the event from the Wheaton Area Moms (WAM) website:

As part of our community outreach, our club hosts a Preschool Fair each year in which attendees can discuss curriculum, tuition and program choices with representatives from a variety of local nursery and preschools.  The fair is free and open to the public.  25 schools participated in our last fair.

This year’s fair will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2010, from 10 am to 12 noon, at Crossway Community, Inc., located at 3015 Upton Drive, Kensington, MD  20895.  (Map).

Please check our School List for participating schools.

If you represent a school interested in participating, please contact the Fair Coordinator at
