Songs, dances and dialogue await you on a trip through the fantasy ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ as you help a wacky inventor create a super car that can float as well as fly. This performance involves whistles, treats, a kidnapping and rescue. The 10-week class culminates with a production for friends and family on the last day of the session. Age: 8 - 14 years

A full day of theatrical fun for grades K – 5 at the Round House Theatre Education Center in Silver Spring when Montgomery County Public Schools are closed. Round House invites students to collaborate with their peers to create an original play in just one day! Each “Day Off” features a new and exciting story genre to explore as well as a unique specialty skill. Specialties will include dance, music, puppetry, movement, or unique disciplines in the performing arts.

Get ready to have fun and dance it out! This high-energy class designed for students with cognitive or developmental disabilities is a fun workout for all students who like to move. Students learn basic hip-hop skills and movement—including isolation and floor work—while learning the basic culture of hip-hop dance. Students then work as a group to apply these techniques to a choreographed piece. No experience necessary; this class is open to anyone who loves to dance!

Access Improvisation (2752) Age 14-21*|5:00-6:30
6-week (10/27-12/1) $210

This workshop designed for students with cognitive or developmental disabilities, introduces students to a style of acting that encourages spontaneous character and situation choices. Students use the performer’s tools of body, voice, mind, and imagination, while working in theatre games and short scenes to develop important skills of listening, clarity, confidence, timing, and team-work.

THURSDAYS
Access Puppetry (2753) Grades 5-8| 5:00-6:30
6-week (10/30-12/11) $210

Specifically designed for students with cognitive or developmental disabilities, this class combines the genres of visual arts and drama to explore basic puppet creation and performance. Students increase their creativity, self-esteem, and communication skills while learning how specific visual, vocal, and physical choices create meaning and tell a story to their audience.
No experience necessary!


*Students ages 18-21 must be enrolled in high school or a high school
equivalent program.

A full day of theatrical fun for grades K – 5 at the Round House Theatre Education Center in Silver Spring when Montgomery County Public Schools are closed. Round House invites students to collaborate with their peers to create an original play in just one day! Each “Day Off” features a new and exciting story genre to explore as well as a unique specialty skill. Specialties will include dance, music, puppetry, movement, or unique disciplines in the performing arts.

Get ready to have fun and dance it out! This high-energy class designed for students with cognitive or developmental disabilities is a fun workout for all students who like to move. Students learn basic hip-hop skills and movement—including isolation and floor work—while learning the basic culture of hip-hop dance. Students then work as a group to apply these techniques to a choreographed piece. No experience necessary; this class is open to anyone who loves to dance!

This workshop designed for students with cognitive or developmental disabilities, introduces students to a style of acting that encourages spontaneous character and situation choices. Students use the performer’s tools of body, voice, mind, and imagination, while working in theatre games and short scenes to develop important skills of listening, clarity, confidence, timing, and team-work.

THURSDAYS
Access Puppetry (2753) Grades 5-8| 5:00-6:30
6-week (10/30-12/11) $210

Specifically designed for students with cognitive or developmental disabilities, this class combines the genres of visual arts and drama to explore basic puppet creation and performance. Students increase their creativity, self-esteem, and communication skills while learning how specific visual, vocal, and physical choices create meaning and tell a story to their audience.
No experience necessary!


*Students ages 18-21 must be enrolled in high school or a high school
equivalent program.
