HOW TO WIN TICKETS
Because this giveaway is bound to be CRAZY POPULAR, here’s how I’m handing the giveaway to give everyone who reads this blog this weekend an equal chance to win:
- Send an email to apissgiveaways@gmail.com with your HOME MAILING ADDRESS by Monday June 13 at 9 am.
- I will randomly draw out of a hat (literally!) 25 of the families that enter via the avenue above.
- The 25 winning families will receive 4 free tickets mailed to their home (sorry, only 4 tickets per family, no exceptions).
- Yup, you have to receive your tickets by mail. Nope, I will not meet you somewhere or drive the tickets to your house. Sorry kids, I’ve got a new baby!
- Winners will also be notified by email. Non-winners will not be notified.
- If it turns out your family cannot attend the screening, then simply give your tickets to friends.
- Comments on this post do not count as entries. All emails that do not include a home mailing address cannot be counted.

CARS 2 – RATED G – Official film synopsis:
Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile (voice of Michael Caine) and the stunning spy-in-training Holley Shiftwell (voice of Emily Mortimer). Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors.
John Lasseter returns to the driver’s seat to direct this follow-up to his 2006 Golden Globe®-winning “Cars.” “Cars 2” is co-directed by Brad Lewis, producer of the Oscar®-winning film “Ratatouille,” and produced by visual effects industry veteran Denise Ream (associate producer, “Up”; visual effects executive producer, “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”). The film hits the track on June 24, 2011, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D in select theaters.

Movies for Moms in the Washington, DC Area
Did you know that every Wednesday at 10 am at The Movies at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, moms, dads and caregivers can catch a movie for just $5 (kids five and under are free)…and the SECOND Wednesday of the month is FREE for adults?
One guess as to where you’ll find me and bebe on Wednesdays this summer?
A new featured film is shown every week, the lights are dimmed (not pitch black) so you can see what your little ones are doing, and the sound is turned down so babies and littles won’t be startled.
$5.00 general admission, kids 5 and under are free.
The second Wednesday of every month, the free day, will show a new-to-DVD movie – a great time to catch a movie you really wanted to see in the theater but missed the first time around.
See? You can still get out of the house and back in the theater!
To find out which film will be showing on the Wednesday you’d like to catch a flick, call (301) 469-5110 the Monday or Tuesday before.
A HUGE shout-out to fellow parent in Silver Spring Jennifer Burns for starting this great event for local parents!

The promoters have given A Parent in Silver Spring 75 more tickets to see RIO in 3D this Saturday April 9th at 10:30am at the Regal Majestic in Downtown Silver Spring!
The first 100 went so fast, they’ve given A Parent in Silver Spring readers 75 more!
Yup, you get to see the show not only for FREE, but one week before its official release on April 15!
To get your tickets, go to GoFoBo.com/rsvp, register if you do not already have a GoFoBo account, and enter the code PRNTSSK7. You will be able to print 4 tickets each!
Please be sure to arrive at least 1 hour before the movie starts to ensure your seats – sometimes these overbook. And if you print tickets but then end up bailing on attending the movie (the reason they overbook these, as people are flaky), please please promise me that you’ll give those tickets to another family you know so that another family can enjoy this great movie for free!
Reminder: I am not emailing passes to this film and leaving a comment on this post WILL NOT score you tickets. You must go to the GoFoBo link above. Thanks!
Official Movie Synopsis:
From the makers of the hit ICE AGE series comes RIO, a comedy adventure about taking a walk on the wild side. Blu is a domesticated Macaw who never learned to fly, living a comfortable life with his owner and best friend Linda in the small town of Moose Lake, Minnesota. Blu and Linda think he’s the last of his kind, but when they learn about another Macaw who lives in Rio de Janeiro, they head to the faraway and exotic land to find Jewel, Blu’s female counterpart. Not long after they arrive, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by a group of bungling animal smugglers. With the help of street smart Jewel, and a group of wise-cracking and smooth-talking city birds, Blu escapes. Now, with his new friends by his side, Blu will have to find the courage to learn to fly, thwart the kidnappers who are hot on their trail, and return to Linda, the best friend a bird ever had.
Voice cast: Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Leslie Mann, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, will.i.am, and Jamie Foxx.
Have fun at the show on Saturday!
