Free Cookie + Washington DC Kids Birthday Party Location: My Little Baker Parties at Capital City Cheesecake

There’s a new kids birthday party venue in Washington, D.C./Montgomery County and a delicious cafe: Capital City Cheesecake in Takoma Park. Located at the old Savory site on Carroll Avenue,  it’s owned by sisters Meaghan (a fellow parent) and Caitlin Murphy … two women who really know their way around a cheesecake.  And muffin. And pizza.  Go ahead and drool over the complete menu.

I highly recommend you go and check out the delicacies in this light-filled cafe. While you’re there, just mention A Parent in Silver Spring and receive a free shortbread cookie with a purchase of a coffee, tea, or juice.

Now, you could take your child to Capital City Cheesecake with you for a family weekend brunch or dinner, or weekday lunch, tea party or afternoon snack.  There you’ll benevolently hand that free cookie over to your kid.  Or you can head to Capital City Cheesecake solo with your laptop and get some work or websurfing done on their free WiFi and nosh that cookie yourself.

I highly endorse both types of cookie consumption.

Capital City Cheesecake is also that blessed type of location that so many of us search for: a new place to have our kids’ birthday parties! Their My Little Bake Parties  are hosted on-site at the shop by trained staff and are hands-on, educational and yummy. You can choose from several party activities, such as decorating pizzas and/or cookies.  The kids get aprons, chef hats and of course, get to eat their creations. Parties are for children age 5 and up and the shop can accommodate a maximum of 10 child party guests.  Contact Capital City Cheesecake for more information and to schedule your bday partay.

Mmmm…I’m always up for cookies and cheesecake either solo, with the kiddos, or as part of a birthday party!  Thanks for the fabulous info about this new spot!  I’ve heard great things about them!

Oh yum! A baking birthday party? I think this would be up S’s aley!

  4. Those look delicious! I have to add I am a huge fan of any type of cooking with children. My little one is not quite ready yet but as soon as we can we will be checking this out. Another recommendation for kid’s cooking (parties and classes) if I’m allowed to make it here is Tiny Chefs. The owner is a good friend and is passionate about both cooking and children.

  5. This sounds like so yummy and the party idea is fabulous!  Since 2 of my kids are February birthdays, it is nice to look into alternative locations.
